4th of July Festivities

It started on 4th of July Eve with a camp out in the back of Marcy's, Grandma's & Poppy's house.

Not only was Aunt Marcy cool enough to pitch the tent, but also nice enough to let them make (and eat) S'mores.

(Lucky for Peter and me, we were left with an empty house and our choice of movies we've been meaning to catch up on for ages).  Aunt Marcy doesn't tire because the next day, she took the boys over to "Big Slide" park and then later to Waters End to launch a rocket (not fireworks).

Then they all came back to play Grandma's family favorite game, Liverpool followed by hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad and watermelon for dinner.  For dessert, we had Grandma's amazing homemade apple pie (ala mode for some).

We ended the evening by braving the wind and headed over to watch Benicia's fireworks on the waterfront.  I'm not sure it doesn't get any more traditional than that!

Hope your 4th was fabulous, too!!
