We really like this swim team - they don't focus on the competition - at least at PJ's level, the kids learn all of the strokes and no one tells them which one they have to swim at the meets. The kids simply decide how they feel the day of the meet. There's also no pressure and no letting anyone down when you miss a meet - good thing because we'll be missing the next one.
Below is the head coach, Debbie, giving PJ a pep talk before his first event.
And I can always count on Peter to make PJ smile . . .
The most enjoyable part of the meets for PJ is to get to hang out with his friends.
The boys built a pretty decent fort out of the chairs and towels, but it came down before I could get a good picture of it. : / I don't know for sure, but it might have had to do with some siblings that were trying to keep themselves busy. They were all under 4' but still couldn't get in without the roof caving in.
