Blue Angels and Fleet Week

My husband is an avid Fleet Week Fan . . . and much to his delight, the boys are quickly following his footsteps into becoming aficionados, too.

PJ earned his right to passage and has been going to the air show with dad and Aunt Marcy since he was 4.

This year, at 4 years old, it was Jake's first time - - and much to Dad's delight, he was SO excited, too!!

He wanted to sleep with that backpack full of planes - he even made me put the backpack in his school backpack (the only way I'd agree to let him bring it to school and keep it safely in his cubby).

While Aunt Marcy is a regular, it was fun to have Grandma and Poppy come . . .

Uncle Rob (also a big fan) and Auntie Heather made it on the same day as us . . .

And PJ got to bring a friend for the first time.

While waiting for the planes, the boys jumped and slid on some of the most amazing inflatables I've ever seen, but these Hamster Balls on water were most impressive (at least to me).  These photos don't even do them justice.

It's a pretty big day seeing all of the cool planes (we left at 9:30 am and came home at 5:30 pm) . . .

When the air show finally started, it began with a civilian team, the Patriots . . .

And you knew when the Blue Angels turn was up next when you saw F - a - a - a - a - a - a - a- a - t  Albert!!

Until next year Blue Angels . . .

{yes, Jake is already asking if he can go again}.
