From there, we drove over to Napa and spent some time at the Mondovi Winery.
We learned they are known for the Cabs and seeing the naked lady in the courtyard should've been our first clue that it was going to be a hot one (over 100 degrees).
Luckily, harvest was late this year so aside from the perfectly straight rows of grape vines, we got to see and taste the grapes!
We even saw the HUGE barrels where the wine is fermented.
We felt like grown-ups once we were done with the tasting.
There was a Chardonnay, a Pinot Noir and a Cabernet and Merlot blend. Next time . . . those of you that are envious can join us. Save the date and note the place - New York City in 2012!
