We brought Pretzel Hugs - always a crowd favorite.
Recipe is SOOO easy (thanks for sharing it Grace).
PRETZEL HUGS
1 bag pretzels
1 pkg. M&Ms
1 pkg. Hershey "Hugs"
Place pretzels on baking stone or sheet. Place a Hug on each pretzel and bake at 200 degrees for about 8 minutes (just watch for the Hugs to melt/peaks to get wet). Remove from oven and promptly place a couple of M&Ms on each pretzel, pressing into the melted chocolate. Allow to cool before serving. I recommend making these the day before you plan on eating/delivering.
We patronized our local pumpkin patches - see previous posts about the Western Railway Museum and Pumpkin Patch with the Preschool.
Aunt Marcy gutted and carved pumpkins with the boys twice (unseasonable warm weather made them icky too fast).
The boys had their parades and parties on the same day at roughly the same time. I made a commitment to be one of PJ's room moms so I was grateful that Peter was available to make it to Jake's school (and even dropped by PJ's parade, too). PJ loves a parade and has no qualms about being a ham . . . didn't get it from me. : )
Jake, on the other hand, was quite serious during his parade and relieved to see that his dad made it!
The boys frosted and ate leftover sugar cookies from Jake's school party.
We returned to Jake's school the next night for a family Halloween Party. There was a cupcake walk - PJ figured out the "pattern" and was maxed out on prizes after he walked out with his 4th cupcake.
They made Ghost Pops and played Bingo . . . but we didn't make it to the actual Trunk-or-Treat. The weather wasn't great, PJ was recovering and oh yeah - there was a World Series game on TV!
Finally, Halloween arrived. The boys were treated to good food brought by good friends.
