My Bay Area buddies were disappointed to learn that Santa wouldn't be at our brunch this year because PJ planned to be out of town for his ski team commitments. So we are all pleasantly surprised when he came!
Jake almost jumped out of his skin when he opened the door and saw Santa. It made me smile when he whispered to me "Where's Daddy?"
Then, I whispered back the answer and he patiently waited his turn to sit on Santa's lap to remind him that he sent a letter already asking for a Lightning McQueen and Team Dinoco tent. (He made me print the picture so Santa wouldn't make a mistake . . . good thinking).
This one knew from the get go and tried hard to keep his giggles to himself.
But, PJ knew enough that the "real" Santa would be upset if he somehow ruined the magic for the littles that didn't understand. So he shared what he wrote in his letter to Santa, too. He usually draws his own pictures, but this year, I think he was influenced by Jake to have his printed from the computer.
I was grateful to finally get a picture of the two of them with Santa - it helps when they're comfortable. : )
They were delighted when they received a response to their letters that included these:
The boys aren't the only ones . . . I believe in the magic of Santa, too -- especially this particular Santa. He always finds a way to make the holidays and every day special.
