On Friday, I left the country to see this dear friend get married at her destination of choice - Vancouver. The girlfriend in me couldn't miss it . . . she is always there for me and she was part of my special crew that flew to my wedding at my destination of choice.
The only challenge it posed was that PJ had his first swim meet at 9:00 am the next morning and I was hoping to make it to at least one of his events. The stars lined up and my angels were smiling because my 6:00 am return flight landed 25 minutes early and my father-in-law kindly picked me up at the airport to drive me straight to the meet so I didn't have to miss anything.

I was in tears watching PJ swim the butterfly for a lot of reasons - he could barley swim 20 feet a month ago, I couldn't believe my little boy was growing up so quickly, I was so proud of him for finishing a race that I know was tough for him and I couldn't believe that I made it and didn't have to miss out on any of it. Phew!
Despite getting only 3 hours of sleep that night, I bet I wasn't as tired as he was. He finished 3 events that day - - all with a smile on his face. I told him that he couldn't have made us happier.
