Pirates and Cosmic Girls Night Out

I guess that could be a misleading title . . . Peter was kind enough to a take the boys to their annual trek to a pirate festival that is set up at least once a year in Vallejo (a nearby town) while my friends and I prepared for a girls' night party we hosted for PJ's school auction.

If you haven't been to the Pirate Festival, it's quite a site to see - people really go all out!  It traditionally happens the same weekend as Father's Day weekend and we're lucky that Poppy looks forward to going, too.  Poppy took this picture:

The boys had fun jumping, climbing and eating.

I'm told they ate like pirates.

I suppose I should be grateful he ate the watermelon first (I hope).

While they were off playing pirates, I was lucky to prepare to host a fun party with a couple of talented girls.

Not only was it fun putting together the spread and marveling at my friend Tara's creative talents but it was really fun hanging out with girls while they had their 20 minute private readings with a psychic.

I'm told it was very therapeutic to sit with Sandy the psychic.  Hope you all enjoyed your summer solstice and that the sun, moon, stars and angels are good to you!!

Unfortunately, something didn't settle well in my stomach so I missed out on all of the Father's Day and brother-in-law birthday celebrations that took place on Sunday.  : (  I definitely owe Peter a do-over for Father's Day!!
